DEBBIE ANN

After a serious spinal injury at the age of sixteen, Debbie took on yoga with hopes of improving flexibility and mobility. Debbie can still remember the first day on her mat, nervous and leery. When practice came to an end, Debbie was confident that she found what she was looking for. Leaving that class she had a whole new outlook and appreciation for yoga. With dedication to her practice, it didn’t take long before Debbie noticed improvement in her flexibility, strength, and pain management. She found inspiration from teachers who she grew to firmly look up to and felt more balanced in her daily living.
In January of 2012 Debbie began her journey to become an instructor by completing her Pilates Mat Instructor Training with Ananda Hot Yoga Aurora while attending college to obtain a diploma in medical office administration (focus in medical terminology and anatomy). In January of 2013 Debbie travelled to Costa Rica for a 45 days to complete her 200 hour YA accredited yoga teacher training with Frog Lotus International, shortly after registering with the International Yoga Alliance and Canadian Yoga Alliance. Continuing to educate and grow… Debbie moved on to complete additional credentials in Reiki level one, Thai yoga massage level one, Zumba Dance, Rainbow Kids YTT, SUP water safety with SUP guide level one, as well as SUP YTT. This is only the beginning of the path.
Debbie’s goal as an instructor is to help her student find contentment and bliss through their on mat experience.

AMANDA
Being healthy and physically active has had such a positive impact on my life over the past ten years. It has saved my life and I strive on helping others become healthy and active because this will save their life as well.
I Grew up as a child with a very unhealthy lifestyle, never exercised or put into sports, I had an unhealthy diet and was living a very sedentary lifestyle. Due to my unhealthy state, I felt tired and lethargic constantly, could never focus on daily tasks or on school work, had really bad allergies to just about anything, broke bones in my body often and I had a very low immune system.
I woke up one morning unhappy with the way I was feeling and decided that a change had to happen. I joined a local gym and started doing fitness classes 3-5 days/week, and started eating nutritional foods, getting proper proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water in my diet. I noticed a change right away in how I was feeling and became addicted to my healthy lifestyle. I then hired a personal trainer to start doing resistance training with me and the results were absolutely amazing.
Fitness became such a huge passion of mine, I decided to go to school for health and fitness and become a certified personal trainer. Since 2007, I have completed many different certification programs within Seneca College, and Can Fit Pro. I am a Certified Personal Trainer Specialist and specialize in training beginners to advanced clients, older adults, athletes and Pre and Post Natal woman. I also runs boot camps out of Newmarket and Aurora throughout the year.
I am here to show people that it is never too late to take control of your life. No matter where you are in your life, it all comes down to making the commitment and leaving no room for giving up.
I love to share my story with others to show you that we all started somewhere and it is never too late to start achieving your fitness goals and getting that lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of. I am truly excited for us to start your fitness journey together.
